About Me

I am a non-practising lawyer and I have worked at Skunkworks Creative Group Inc. since 2005, starting as Client Service Director and more recently taking on the role of Vice President. The title may have changed but my direct engagement with our clients has not. This is a good thing because my favourite part of this job is working with people to bring marketing projects to life. Skunkworks is a Vancouver-based marketing agency that provides a broad range of marketing and advertising services to professional service providers and institutions with a particular focus on the legal industry.

I have worked on international print campaigns and successful print campaigns for BC law firms from general practice firms to niche retail practices like personal injury and immigration law. More recently, I have focused on website development and helping clients leverage social media. I explain the pros and cons of marketing tools and guide clients through the steps necessary to select the appropriate tools for supporting specific marketing goals. My role includes working with clients to develop strategy and content for online marketing efforts including blogs, websites and social media platforms. I am also delighted to be the Co-Editor of Vistas, UVic Law's alumni magazine. 

Specialties: Marni's legal background includes labour law, legal research and writing in both the labour and criminal law practice areas. She is experienced in evaluating the marketing needs of her law firm clients and defining marketing possibilities that fit their immediate and short term business goals. She is adept at educating clients on the fundamentals of web marketing and website usability and is experienced putting together client teams to execute projects.
